LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION
RRT: Graduates of the Respiratory Care Technology AAS degree program are eligible to apply for the Therapist Multiple Choice(TMC) Examination and the Clinical Simulation Exam (CSE) Examination offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Successful candidates earn the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials. Successful completion of this program does not itself ensure certification or registration. Each student is responsible for familiarizing themselves with the applicable requirements, including the examination schedules.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE DISCLOSURE RESPIRATORY CARE
The Respiratory Care Technology program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (COARC). Successful completion of professional course work in the Respiratory Care Technology AAS degree program satisfies the academic requirements to apply for a license in the State of Mississippi. Applicants with the intent to seek licensure outside of Mississippi upon completion of this program, must access the list of State Respiratory Care Boards below to identify whether CCC’s Respiratory Care program meets, does not meet, or if it has not been determined whether CCC’s program meets the educational requirements for licensure in any state or U.S. territory. It is our recommendation that applicants wishing to apply for out of state license contact the specific state licensing agencies directly prior to beginning the CCC program for licensure requirements.
